Statistical elements of the services of access to the Internet at a fixed location

On 19 December 2007 ANACOM gave approval to the set of statistical elements to be sent to this Authority by the providers of services of access to the Internet at a fixed location, as well as the report on the prior hearing of interested parties on the corresponding draft decision, adopted on 24 October 2007.

The set of approved statistical elements, which are contained in annex to the decision include the following indicators: number of customers and number of accesses separated by bandwidth type of technology of access and customer segment (residential/non-residential); and volume of traffic and revenues from the service of access to the Internet.

The providers of services of access to the Internet at a fixed location have a period of 60 days for the implementation of these indicators. Once this period has expired, providers of services of access to the Internet at a fixed location shall send, on a regular basis, the information concerned, by the thirtieth day of the month following the end of each quarter. Accordingly, the information in respect of the second quarter of 2008, calculated in accordance with the new definitions, shall be reported by the 30 July 2008. From this date, the providers shall send the information in respect of the following civil quarters by the 30th day after the end of the quarter concerned and in accordance with the definitions now approved. The information in respect of the service of access to the Internet with regard to the first quarter of 2008 may be reported in accordance with the previous definitions, by 30 April 2008.

The information concerned should be sent to e-mail address dee.stats@anacom.pt or in physical format to ANACOM's head office, and may be published by this Authority.

The indicators in respect of the service of access to the Internet at a fixed location is therefore made independent of the questionnaire of the services of data transmission, remaining in force only with respect to the indicators of the service of data transmission (that is to say, the indicators of sections 1.1., 1.2., 1.3., 2.1., 2.2., 3.1. and 3.2. of the previous questionnaire remain in force).
