Regulation on intensity levels of electromagnetic fields

Regulation no.86/2007, issued by ANACOM, on the method for monitoring and measuring intensity levels of electromagnetic fields produced by radiocommunication stations, has been published (Diário da República, II Series, of 22 May 2007), and enters into force on the 5th day following its publication, that is, today, 28 May.

This regulation specifies procedures for measuring non-ionising electromagnetic radiation (9 kHz-300 GHz) on-the-spot, in order to evaluate electromagnetic fields for the sake of comparison with reference levels set out in Administrative Rule no. 1421/2004, of 23 November, published under paragraph 1 of article 11 of Decree-Law no. 11/2003 of 18 January.

This regulation shall be reviewed whenever necessary, namely where an international or Community rule is provided on methods for monitoring and measuring intensity levels of electromagnetic fields produced by radiocommunication stations.
