Portuguese Candidate to the IRG and ERG Secretariat


ANACOM has decided to support the application of Carlos Costa  to the vacancy of Senior Member of Permanent Chair's Secretariat of the Independent Regulators Group (IRG) and the European regulators Group (ERG). Carlos Costa is an employee of ANACOM and has vast international and national experience in market regulation.

This application supports ANACOM's objective of growing and strengthening its participation in the key European organisation and bodies that perform functions related to the activity of electronic communications sector regulation. For this purpose a blog has been published with a range of information about Mr Costa's application, supported by ANACOM.

The permanent IRG/ERG Chair's Secretariat is a new body, approved by the IRG plenary held in December 2006. Initially it will be hosted in the premises of DG INFSO (European Commission) in Brussels and will be composed of one senior member and two junior members. These members are being recruited from the National Regulatory authorities (NRAs) of the members of the IRG and ERG, with logistic support being provided by DG INFSO.

The recruitment process for the three vacant positions - one Senior Member (responsible for coordination) and two Junior Members - was launched on 04 April 2007 and closes on 30 April 2007. Applications must include written authorisation from the NRA of the candidate's country.
