European eGovernment Awards


The European Commission was yesterday holding an information Day on the 3rd eGovernment Awards. This initiative aims at promoting good practice among Member Stares in the area of eGovernment, with an information seminar being organised in Brussels.

This year’s awards, launched on 1 April, have five categories: better public services for growth and jobs, participation and transparency, pocial impact and cohesion, effective and efficient administration, most inspiring pood practice. The awards are open to services of public administration that provide electronic services from EU Member and Candidate States as well as Iceland, Leitchenstein, Norway and Switzerland. Entires must be made electronically through the site  European Commission: eGovernment Exchange, preferentially be in English and be made by 1 June 2007.

The prizes will be announced and awarded in Lisbon, during the Ministerial eGovernment Conference and Exhibition, on 20 September 2007.
