Electronic communications services - statistical indicators

By determinations of 2 November 2006, ANACOM approved decisions on the range of statistical data that providers of leased lines services and broadband Internet access services need to submit, for the purposes of the definition of relevant markets and assessment of significant market power (SMP) in the corresponding markets.

As regards the leased lines markets, the aim of the questionnaire is to collect breakdown information on a regular basis, divided into three areas: leased lines provision to retail customers, leased lines provision to wholesale customers and infrastructure. This range of indicators must be submitted to ANACOM by providers of such services no later than 30 May of the year following the year to which they relate.

With regard to markets of broadband access services, questionnaires have been elaborated in order to monitor these markets and to collect breakdown information on a regular basis, grouped into three parts: broadband access – retail level, broadband access – wholesale level, and potential provision. This range of indicators must be submitted to ANACOM by providers of such services no later than 15 May of the year following the year to which they relate.

Data collected in this scope may be published by ANACOM on an aggregate basis.

This determination comprises the prior hearing reports on the corresponding draft decisions, approved by determinations of 27 July 2006, having been received contributions from the following operators: PT Group (PT.COM, PT Prime, PTM SGPS and PT Wi Fi), OniTelecom, Novis Telecom, Vodafone Portugal and GC Paneuropean Crossing España (the latter concerning the leased lines markets only).
