The European Commission has released the final report of the study, ''Availability and Robustness of Electronic Communications Infrastructures'', carried out by Alcatel-Lucent.
The study looks at the capability and security of electronic communication networks and makes ten recommendations to enhance their protection and resilience. These recommendations identify critical areas that require priority action, reinforcing the importance of cooperation at a European Level. They cover a range of issues, including preparation for emergency situations, public infrastructure, the sharing of vital information between Member States, standardisation and interoperability.
Following the publication of the final report yesterday, the Commission has extended the deadline for sending comments, which can now be sent by 18 May 2007, by email to infso-a3@ec.europa.eu.
