ANACOM decided, by determination of 12 July 2010, to revoke the act of granting rights of use of frequencies associated with Multiplexers B to F and, as a consequence, the five titles which substantiate the rights assigned to PT Comunicações, without forfeiture of the guarantee bond. It was likewise determined that the decision of revocation is retroactive in effect from 29 January 2010, date on which the corresponding draft decision was approved.
It must be recalled that the referred rights of use of frequencies concerned the Pay TV operation, having been assigned in the scope of the process of introduction of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in order to foster competition, especially in the pay TV market, thus providing the end user with a wider and more diversified offer of networks and services.
On that date, ANACOM approved also the report of the prior hearing and of the general consultation procedure to which the corresponding draft decision was submitted, which was assessed by the following entities: Associação Portuguesa de Radiodifusão, Grupo Media Capital, Impresa - Sociedade Gestora de Participações Sociais, PT Comunicações, Sonaecom, Televés Electrónica Portuguesa, Vodafone Portugal, Aldino Garrudo, Electro, Eliseu A. Macedo, Enio Gomes, João Frutuoso Fernandes, Jorge Cunha, Miguel Vitorino, Nelson Teixeira, Ricardo Duarte and Rui Rebelo de Sousa.
