On 16 July 2010, the AdC - Autoridade da Concorrência (Competition Authority) released the evaluation made of the competitive market situation in the postal services, publishing the report “Liberalisation of the Postal Sector – Main questions about competitive market”
In this document, the AdC proceeds to the characterization of the sector and of the Portuguese market, identifies the constraints to the completion that the postal alternative service providers to the incumbent (CTT) could face and presents conclusions and recommendations.
Note that full liberalisation of the postal sector will take effect from the 1st of January of 2011.
