Trunking Mobile Service Statistics

By determination of 28 September 2006, approval has been given to a revised set of statistical indicators that providers of Trunking Mobile Services have to send to ANACOM.

The current set of Trunking Mobile Service indicators has been in place since licenses were awarded (1993 and 1994), with the exception of the ''networks/fleets'' indicator which was introduced in 2001. However, due to technological and market developments, it has been decided to make some alterations: an indicator for the number of clients has been introduced, as well as 3 sub-indicators for the number of networks/fleets and a range of new traffic indicators covering PTT (Push-to-talk).

Furthermore, with respect to the outgoing traffic indicators, the ''average length of call'' indicator has been replaced by ''number of calls'' which together with the indicators recording the number of minutes will provide a more detailed and accurate picture of how the network is being used and of the relative importance of this service. Likewise it was decided to add indicators for SMS traffic, data services, and tailor-made solutions which are being offered through new technologies based on Trunking Mobile Services.

The providers of this service have 3 months to implement the changes after which they must send the applicable information to ANACOM on a quarterly basis and within twenty days following the end of each quarter.
