ERG Work Programme 2007

The European Regulators Group (ERG) has published its work programme for 2007, setting out three key priority areas for the year: regulatory challenges, harmonisation and innovation.

During 2007, the ERG will seek to follow and play an active part in reflecting on the challenges of regulating the communications sector, in particular the process of reviewing the regulatory framework for electronic communications in the European Union.  The ERG will seek to boost harmonisation among its members and effectively contribute to the development of the single market, through the pursuit of measures such as the sharing of regulatory best practices. The group also cites the need to address the new issues being driven by the technological developments that are currently changing the electronic communications markets.

Finally, and in order to improve the ERG's efficiency in delivering the Work Programme, the Group will devote specific attention to the implementation of efficient organisation and of systems that provide mutual assistance and share information among members.
