By determination of 6 July 2006, ANACOM decided to renew the rights of frequency use of SIC and TVI, for a 15 year period, for the activity of television broadcasting using the analogue system.
This decision is based on a public consultation on the matter launched on 22 February 2006, which final report, now approved, includes the comments received from SIC, TVI and Vodafone Portugal.
The conditions attached to the renewal of the rights of frequency use stated on the titles to be issued were also determined. It was decided to include the recovery, by ANACOM and free of charge, of those frequencies, further to any possible changes to the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP), especially of the date that, under the law, will be set for the switch-off of television broadcasting using the analogue system.
Draft versions of the corresponding titles of renewal of the rights of frequency use were submitted to previous hearing by SIC, TVI and PT Comunicações.
