Tariff Monitor - New SMS and MMS services

From today the mobile telephone service Tariff monitor, which since its launch has allowed users to consult tariffs on offer for voice services, can also be used to consult and compare pricing for text and Multimedia messaging (SMS and MMS).

Users can check the current tariffs available for SMS and MMS and make monthly billing simulations that include the costs of these services, or make a cost simulation of a single message.  They can then compare the various tariff options over different periods depending on quantity of messages sent and their destinations.  With MMS users can also make different simulations depending on the type of messages sent, comparing image, audio, video and text messages.

Users also have the option of using the monitor’s tools to simulate "message packets" (not available with the virtual message tool).  In the consultation tool these packets are considered as being connected to a specific voice tariff.

As with the voice service, the monitor only covers messages sent nationally (i.e. within the national mobile networks or to the national fixed network).  It does not allow simulations for messages sent to numbers that have been ported or to numbers with special tariffs such as those starting in 1,3,4,6,7 or 8;  nor does the monitor take into account special promotions and other discounts whether or not subject to standing monthly charges.
