Pricing information services of calls to ported numbers

ANACOM approved, on 19 October 2005, a set of recommendations aimed for operators with portability obligations, following monitoring exercises carried out in the months of September and October this year, in the scope of which were found weaknesses in the pricing information services of calls to ported numbers.

The monitoring exercises aimed to verify the information provided through the referred information services, bearing in mind the provisions of the Portability Regulation (Regulation no. 58/2005, approved on 22 July 2005), which determines that the companies offering a mobile telephone service or telephone service which is accessible at a fixed location, with rate plans which might make a call to a ported number more expensive than before the portability of the same number, must maintain a telephone pricing information service for voice calls, data calls, and short text messages to ported numbers.

The recommendations now notified shall be implemented within a 30-day period of time.
