The European Commission has issued a Call for proposals for projects of common interest in the field of trans-European telecommunications networks.  This invitation represents one of the main actions taken under eTEN work Programme for 2006, which was adopted on 3rd February.

Proposals presented by candidates have to reach the Commission at the latest on Tuesday 10 May, 2005, at 16:00 hours (Brussels local time), and should fit into one of the following types of action: Initial Deployment Projects or Market Validation Projects. They should refer to one or more or the following themes identified in the eTEN Work Programme 2006: eGovernment, eHealth, eInclusion, eLearning, Trust and Security, and Services supporting SMEs.

Information about how to prepare and submit a proposal, as well as details on the evaluation process, are available on the European Union portal in the eTEN area or can be obtained from The European Commission.

As part of the eTEN programme, a National Information Day will be held in Lisbon on 15th March 2006.
