Ad-hoc questionnaires about roaming

Under the International Roaming Regulation (Regulation (EC) no. 544/2009 of 18 June), the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) approved two ad-hoc questionnaires, a compliance questionnaire and a questionnaire on alternative retail roaming tariffs, which must be filled out and sent to ANACOM by 27 October 2007, to dee.stats@anacom.ptmailto:dee.stats@anacom.pt.

The first questionnaire - compliance questionnaire - aims to collect information particularly on the fulfilment of the obligations of transparency, of the implementation of anti bill-shock measures, and of the free reception of voice-mail messages when using roaming in the European Union/European Economic Area, as established in the mentioned Regulation. This information will be published on BEREC's website and/or provided to the European Commission in a way that guarantees its confidentiality.

With the second questionnaire - alternative retail roaming tariffs - the aim is to collect information about the non-regulated voice and SMS tariffs, the retail tariffs for roaming data, and the packages offered by operators. Excluding the Euro tariff, the Euro-SMS tariff and the ''special corporate'' tariffs, this questionnaire involves data about the tariffs offered within the European Union. The information collected will also be sent to BEREC, for analysing the level of competition and innovation in roaming services.
