The European Commission (EC) has launched a public consultation aimed at identifying common legal principles on collective redress which runs until 30 of April of 2011. The consultation should also help to analyze how these common principles could fit into the EU legal system and into the legal orders of the 27 Member States of the European Union (EU). This initiative of the EC also explores in which fields different forms of collective redress (injunctive and /or compensatory) could have an added value for improving the enforcement of EU legislation or for better protecting the rights of victims.
