DTT - Approval of a decision on alteration of Mux A channels


By determination of 9 March 2011, ANACOM approved the report of the prior hearing and general consultation procedures to which a draft decision of 22 December 2010, as well as a final decision regarding the alteration of some operating channels of Multiplexer A (Mux A) of the digital terrestrial television service (DTT), assigned to PT Comunicações, were submitted.

It was thus decided to alter the right of use for frequencies ICP-ANACOM No. 6/2008, replacing radio channels 61 (790-798 MHz), 64 (814-822 MHz) and 67 (838-846 MHz) of the Autonomous Regions of Madeira and the Azores for channel 54 (734-742 MHz) in Madeira and channels 48 (686-694 MHz), 49 (694-702 MHz) and 54 (742-750 MHz) in the Azores.

ANACOM decided on this same date to submit to the prior hearing and general consultation procedures a new draft decision, concerning the alteration of the DTT operating channel assigned for Mainland Portugal. The replacement of channel 67 (838-846 MHz) for channel 56 (750-758 MHz) is under consideration here.

This draft decision was submitted to the prior hearing of PTC, RTP – Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, SIC – Sociedade Independente de Comunicação, TVI – Televisão Independente, under provisions of the Administrative Procedure Code, as well as to the general consultation procedure, laid down in articles 8 and 20 of Law number 5/2004, of 10 February, with a period of 10 working days provided for both procedures. It was likewise decided to notify ERC - Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (Regulatory Authority for the Media), which was given the same period to respond.
