By determination of 4 April 2011, ANACOM approved a final decision on the alteration of the operating channel of Multiplexer A (Mux A) of the digital terrestrial television service (DTT) in Mainland Portugal. The frequency usage right ICP-ANACOM number 06/2008 assigned to PT Comunicações will thereby incorporate the replacement of channel 67 (838-846 MHz) for channel 56 (750-758 MHz).
Approval was likewise given to the preliminary hearing report and the general consultation procedure, to which the corresponding draft decision of 9 March 2011 was submitted under the scope of which responses were received from the following entities: OPTIMUS – Comunicações, PT Comunicações, SIC – Sociedade Independente de Comunicação, Vodafone Portugal, José Ilídio Morais and José Oliveira Cangueiro, in addition to an unidentified individual. In accordance with its competences, a contribution was also obtained from ERC - Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (Regulatory Authority for the Media).
