Revoked the right of use of frequencies associated to T-DAB service

By determination of 15 April 2011, ANACOM has given approval to the revocation of the act of allocation of the right of use of frequencies for the terrestrial digital audio broadcasting (T-DAB) service held by RTP - Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, and consequently revocation of the supporting title license ICP no. 004/99-RPT.

ANACOM also decided to recommend to RTP that it undertake to notify the public as to this decision to cease T-DAB transmissions, with advance notice exceeding the notice period of 15 days which is legally required.

Approval was likewise given to the report of the prior hearing and of the general consultation procedure to which the corresponding draft decision of 3 March 2011 was submitted. Under these procedures, responses were received from Associação Portuguesa de Radiodifusão (Portuguese Broadcasting Association) and Eliseu Macedo. In consideration of its remit, ERC - Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (Regulatory Authority for the Media) was also heard.
