Portugal among the most active in implementing FTTP

Portugal is probably the most active European country in implementing FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), a result a visionary regulation of duct access and government loans to facilitate financing, as revealed in the ''A World of Fiber'' report by the consultants Diffraction Analysis. The document also indicates that approximately 1.4 million of households (about one third of the country) can access fibre optic services, with a total number of customers standing at 100,000.

This report presents a global view of the FTTP implementation, exploring development dynamics and of technology adoption and is available free from the consultant.
