DECO - Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor (Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection) released tests results on new set-top boxes for digital terrestrial television (DTT), carried out under the protocol signed between ANACOM and the Association.
DTT is now available in Alenquer and Cacém, the first two pilot zones of analogue television signal “blackout”. The third will be the area covered by the relay of Nazaré, including some places in the municipality of Alcobaça, with the switch off taking place on 13 October 2011. In the remaining national territory, analogue TV broadcasts will end by 26 April 2012.
