At the invitation of the Latvian regulator (PUC - Public Utilities Commission of Latvia), the project team on Technical Regulation and Interconnection Standards (TRIS) of the working group on Numbering and Networks (WG NaN) held a meeting last 21-22 June in Riga, Latvia. This PT produces studies and reports on technical aspects affecting areas such as convergence, interconnection and interoperability between different networks and services.
The following subjects were discussed at the gathering:
- Emergency calls and location-finding information in the case of VoIP technology;
- Inventory of civil infrastructure for telecommunications and its geo-referencing;
- Solutions for measuring quality of service (QoS) on the internet.
The next PT TRIS meeting will be held in October 2011.
