By determination of 29 June 2011, ANACOM has decided to grant an exemption from radio licensing to Earth Stations on-board Vessels (ESV) operating in the 5925-6425 MHz (earth-space) and 3700-4200 MHz (space-earth) frequency bands at distances exceeding 300km from the normal base line, along the Portuguese coast, to ESV each stations installed on-board vessels operating in the 14-14.5 GHz (earth-space), 10.7-11.7 GHz (space-earth) and 12.5-12.75 (space-earth) frequency bands without geographic restriction, and to radiodetermination stations installed onboard vessels.

Accordingly, it was likewise decided to amend annex 4 of the National Table of Frequency Allocations (NTFA) which governs radio licensing exemptions.
