Approval given to decision on the limitation of rights of use of frequencies in the 450 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2.1 GHz and 2.6 GHz bands

By determination of 13 July 2011, ANACOM has approved the final decision on limiting the number of rights of use of frequencies to be allocated in the 450 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2.1 GHz and 2.6 GHz bands, and also on the definition of the respective allocation procedure, which will be by auction.

In this decision, ANACOM has, in essence, maintained the provisions of the draft decision, approved on 17 March 2011, while changing point d) of paragraph 1 of its operative part, to include, as part of the auction, the entire available spectrum in the 1800 MHz band. As such, up to 9 rights of use of 2 × 5 MHz will be available in the 1800 MHz frequency band and up to three rights of use of 2x4 MHz in the same band.

Consequently, the decision which is now approved has been reflected in the National Table of Frequency Allocations (NTFA) 2010/2011.
