The Internal Market Forum organised under the Polish EU Presidency was held last 3-4 October in Krakow, attended by national public authorities (pertaining to local and central administration), regulatory bodies, European institutions (notably counting the presence of European commissioners M. Barnier and J. Dalli), members of the European and national parliaments, and representatives of businesses and other social partners.
The forum included two plenary sessions and a set of eight parallel workshops, of which the following stand out: "Electronic Commerce - prospects and challenges", "Alternative Dispute Resolution and Online Resolution - the future" and "Overcoming the Gap between Citizens and the Internal Market". The others focused on "Professional Qualifications - the potential of the European Professional Card", "Facilitating Business - the Single Contact Point", "Worker Placement and Fundamental Rights of Citizens", "Enhanced Functioning of EU Public Contracting Laws" and "Implementation of the Internal Market to Ensure Citizens' Rights - success stories in member states".
The results of discussions in the eight workshops served as basis for the Krakow Declaration on the Internal Market, which also contained a set of conclusions in the eight identified areas (see declaration text at Single Market Forum - The Krakow Declarationhttp://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/top_layer/docs/simfo-declaration-op-conclusions_en.pdf).
