DTT - ANACOM adjusts timetable for the 1st stage of the switch-off plan


ANACOM approved, on 5 January 2012, an adjustment to the switch-off timetable for the 1st stage of the plan for termination of analogue terrestrial television broadcasting (switch-off plan - PSO). In this way, this Authority expects to increase the possibility of addressing any shortcomings and to reduce the impact associated to the ongoing operation.

While maintaining the intended date for launching the 1st stage of the PSO, 12 January, ANACOM has set the following time-table:

  • On 12.01.2012, the following stations shall be switched-off:
    Transmitter: Palmela;
    Relays: Alcácer do Sal, Melides and Sesimbra.
     
  • On 23.01.2012, the following stations shall be switched-off:
    Transmitter: Fóia - Monchique;
    Relays: Santiago do Cacém, Cercal do Alentejo, Odemira, Odeceixe, Monchique, Aljezur and Silves.
     
  • On 01.02.2012, the following stations shall be switched-off:
    Transmitter: Lisboa-Monsanto;
    Relays: Areeiro, Barcarena, Caparica, Carvalhal, Cheleiros, Estoril, Graça, Montemor-o-Novo, Odivelas, Sintra, Malveira, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Coruche and Cabeção.
     
  • On 13.02.2012, the following stations shall be switched-off:
    Transmitter: Reguengo do Fetal;
    Relays: Vale de Santarém, Sobral da Lagoa, Mira de Aire, Candeeiros, Alcaria, Tomar, Ourém, Caranguejeira, Leiria, Alvaiázere, Avelar, Pombal, Castanheira de Pera, Espinhal, Senhora do Circo, Padrão, Ceira dos Vales, Vale de Açôr, Vila Nova de Ceira, Ceira, Coimbra, Caneiro, Cidreira, Lorvão, Penacova, Mortágua, Avô and Benfeita.
     
  • On 23.02.2012, the following stations shall be switched-off:
    Transmitter: São Macário;
    Relays: Préstimo, Viseu, Cedrim, Vouzela, Vale de Cambra, Covas do Monte, Santa Maria da Feira, Arouca, Rio Arda, Lalim, Vila Nova de Gaia, Foz, Valongo, Santo Tirso, Caldas de Vizela, Caldas de Vizela II, Amarante, Gondar, São Domingos, Ancede, Caldas de Aregos, Resende, Lamego and Santa Marta de Penaguião.

It should be referred that the Malhada relay, the switch-off of which was scheduled for the 1st stage of the PSO, shall only be switched-off on the 3rd stage, during which shall also take place the switch-off of the relay it feeds (Malhada II).

It should be recalled that the PSO - which was approved by determination of this Authority of 24 June 2010 - integrates two more stages: 22 March 2012 (the Azores and Madeira) and 26 April 2012 (remaining Mainland territory).
