DTT - provision of information to the population

On 12 April, ANACOM launched the third stage of its information campaign on digital terrestrial television (DTT), informing people about what they have to do to avoid losing access to the four free-to-air television channels as the transition is made in Portugal from analogue to digital television. The final stage of the switch-off of analogue television takes place on 26 April 2012.

In line with previous stages of the campaign, various media channels will be employed, including television, radio and outdoor advertising.

Meanwhile, by determination of 23 March, ANACOM has approved the subsidy available for the adaptation of installation to provide reception of the digital signal, by terrestrial means (DTT) or by satellite (DTH), to be distributed by PT Comunicações.  Requests for allocation of the subsidy may be submitted up to 31 August 2012 and can be combined with the subsidy available for the acquisition of DTT reception equipment.
