The second joint workshop organised by BEREC’s expert working group on next generation networks (EWG-NGN) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on “IP Interconnection in the Context of Net Neutrality” was held last 20 June in Brussels, basically focusing on regulation aspects. The participants included representatives of BEREC (presenting the recently published document “An Assessment of IP-Interconnection in the Context of Net Neutrality”), the European Commission (EC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as well as other national regulatory authorities (NRAs), which presented their view of the subject. Besides the panel that included major global market players such as Google, Akamai and Deutsche Telekom, aspects of the upcoming review of the ITU’s International Telecommunications Regulations were also discussed.
