Extension of period of DTT subsidy

ANACOMhas decided on a draft decision to extend the term of the DTT subsidy programme until 26 April 2013, the date which marks one year from the completion of the shutdown of analogue television.

As such, those wanting to apply for subsidies still have time to do so over the next four months. ANACOM's final decision will be formalized in early January. However, since the decision is retroactive to 31 December 2012, the subsidy programmes will not be interrupted.

The support available is as follows:

  • A subsidy worth 61 euros to adapt, repoint or install new aerials (for DTT or satellite reception). Support is available to citizens who are eligible for the subsidy program, aged 65 years or over, in situations of social isolation for structural or cyclical reasons (as registered with Social Security).

  • A subsidy equal to 50% of the price of the DTT or DTH decoder, up to 22 euros, available to applicants on income support (Rendimento Social de Inserção), pensioners and retirees whose monthly income does not exceed 500 euros, as well as to people with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 60% and to institutions of proven social value. This subsidy is cumulative with the previous one.

The maximum price of 61 euros for the installation of DTH reception system remains in place until 26 April 2013 fixed for all people who receive the signal by satellite, regardless of their economic situation, provided installation is undertaken by installers who are recommended by PTC.

The application procedures for these subsidies are available on the DTT Websitehttp://tdt.telecom.pt/custos/.
