Portugal was established as a vice-chairman of the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT-12), organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which was held from 3 to 14 December 2012 in Dubai (UAE). ANACOM's Manuel Costa Cabral was appointed to represent Europe as one of six vice-chairmen of the conference.
