It is incumbent on ANACOM, under its Statutes, to work with other public and private bodies to promote scientific research for communications.
In this respect, this Authority established in 2010 the ''ANACOM Prize'', which rewards on an annual basis the best research works in the fields of engineering (ANACOM - URSI Portugal Prize), economy (ANACOM - Economics of ICTs Prize) and law (yet to be implemented).
This is a monetary award, of 4000€ for engineering strand and 5000€ for economy strand.
