On 24 April 2013, the European Commission (EC) approved the Green Paper 'Preparing for a Fully Converged Audiovisual World: Growth, Creation and Values", inviting interested parties and the general public to submit comments by the end of August.
The EC is seeking to compile opinions on the speed of convergence in the audiovisual world, in a context of convergence between technology and content; this comes in response to concerns about implications for European economic growth and innovation, cultural diversity and implications for consumers (especially those, such as children, who may require protection).
