At a meeting held on 13 and 14 May 2013, the Council of Ministers of the European Union (EU) approved a regulation establishing a new mandate for the European Union Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), following agreement reached with the European Parliament upon first reading.
Given that ENISA's current mandate expires on 13 September 2013, and in order to improve efficiency, the new regulation provides a framework for the Agency's tasks over the next seven years, strengthening its administrative structure and streamlining its procedures.
