The new pricing proposed by CTT - Correios de Portugal will take effect from 1 June 2013. The proposal submitted by the operator, to which ANACOM did not object, includes prices for the service of newspapers, periodical and non-periodical publications, books (editorial mail) and respective discount tables.
Pursuant to ANACOM's decision, CTT will undertake suitable actions to ensure dissemination of the new prices by appropriate means, doing so no less than 10 days prior to the date on which they are due to enter into force, in order to inform users and market segments.
It was further decided to recommend to CTT that, in future, given the impact on the activity of the service's users, proposals for the pricing of this service be communicated to ANACOM and to users further in advance of the date on which such pricing is due to enter into force.
Meanwhile, ANACOM will undertake a comprehensive examination of the costs and margins of the service with a view to defining the criteria to be fulfilled in the formulation of pricing, especially as regards the application and evaluation of the principles of cost orientation of prices and affordability for all users.
