The Portuguese Committee of URSI has launched a call for papers in preparation for their 7th Congress, which will take place on 22 November 2013 on the theme ''An ocean without borders: technological challenges''. The initiative aims to promote the dissemination of scientific works and encourage the exchange of experience, especially among researchers, manufacturers and service providers.
Original scientific papers may be submitted on the main theme of the Congress or on the designated scientific areas, up to 4 October 2013. The selected papers will then be presented at the Congress.
Meanwhile, with sponsorship from ANACOM, the Portuguese Committee of URSI will award the "ANACOM - URSI Portugal Prize" during the Congress, to recognise the best research work in the area of Radioelectricity. Entries to the prize close on 4 October 2013.
ANACOM also sponsors the Best Student Paper Award, which was set up to encourage creativity and rigor in scientific research work among young Portuguese authors. The prize will be awarded during the Congress to the best paper presented by a Portuguese student. Entries to this award may likewise be submitted up to 4 October 2013.
