ANACOM re-launches Roaming Light campaign

On 27 July, ANACOM re-launched its information campaign on international roaming, seeking to provide consumers with information about the new maximum prices which operators can charge for roaming communications between countries of the European Economic Area (price caps in force since 1 July 2013).

The Roaming Light Website, www.roaminglight.net, alerts consumers to the steps they need to take before travelling; consumers can also check the maximum prices that can be charged and can find a range of useful information on international roaming.

In addition to the website, the campaign focuses on the Internet as a means of communication, while also using the general press to spread its message. ANACOM is also partnering with ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal (Portuguese Airport Operator) to distribute leaflets to passengers at Terminal 1 of Lisbon Airport.

The Roaming Light campaign follows the entry into force of the 3rd Roaming Regulation, approved by the Council of the European Union on 30 May 2012, and the consequent annual reduction in the cost of roaming communications.
