Laboratories cooperation project

The Portuguese and Hungarian administrations have laboratories accredited in accordance with standard EN ISO/IEC 17025. One of this standard's requisites is that it is mandatory for accredited labs to take part in inter-laboratory comparison programmes with a view to verifying technical competence.

Early this year ANACOM invited its Hungarian counterpart, the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH), to carry out a bilateral comparison in the calibration area. ANACOM's Testing and Calibration Laboratory (LEC) in Barcarena thus hosted last 24-26 September an NMHH delegation to take part in the comparison of fundamental measurements such as power, frequency, attenuation, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), AM/FM modulations and low frequency tension.

Besides verifying both laboratories’ technical competence in the calibration area, the visit enabled an enriching exchange of knowledge and experience regarding other LEC areas, specifically radio testing, electromagnetic compatibility testing and the laboratory quality management system.
