Use of the band 1850-2000 kHz by the amateur service in 2014


ANACOM has authorised use of the 1850-2000 kHz band, in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the National Table of Frequency Allocations (NTFA) for the 1830-1850 kHz band, for participation in the following contests during 2014:

  • 24.01.2014 to 24.01.2014, CQ World-Wide 160 Meter Contest (CW);
  • 15.02.2014 to 16.02.2014, ARRL International DX CW Contest;
  • 21.02.2014 to 23.02.2014, CQ World-Wide 160 Meter Contest (SSB);
  • 01.03.2014 to 02.03.2014, ARRL International DX Fonía Contest;
  • 29.03.2014 to 31.03.2014, CQ WW WPX SSB Contest;
  • 24.05.2014 to 26.05.2014, CQ WW WPX CW Contest;
  • 17.05.2014 to 18.05.2014, S.M. El Rey de España CW Contest;
  • 28.06.2014 to 29.06.2014, S.M. El Rey de España Fonía Contest;
  • 12.07.2014 to 13.07.2014, IARU HF Championship;
  • 25.10.2014 to 26.10.2014, CQ WW SSB Contest;
  • 01.11.2014 to 02.11.2014, CQ WW CW Contest;
  • 05.12.2014 to 07.12.2014, ARRL 160-Meter Contest.

This authorisation is granted pursuant to paragraph 3 of article 5 of Decree-Law no. 151-A/2000 of 20 July, as amended by Decree-Law no. 264/2009 of 28 September.

This authorisation for temporary use of the 1850-2000 kHz band may not be used for any other purpose within the amateur service, nor in the context of any other radio service.

Transmissions associated with such use must not cause interference to other radio services, whereby any such occurrence of interference shall determine the immediate cessation of transmissions in the band.

In addition, usage must comply, where applicable, with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 53/2009 of 2 March.

The present authorisation does not give rise to any obligation on ANACOM's part, nor to any right, expectation or legally protected interests as regards any future process related to this frequency band.
