The Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) has published its strategic plan for the 2015-2020 period, identifying the following priority areas:
- implementation of a new digital dividend in the 700 MHz band;
- spectrum for wireless broadband (including 5G);
- responding to the needs of short range devices, including appropriate spectrum access for the Internet of things;
- programme making and special events;
- public protection and disaster relief;
- migration to next generation networks (NGN);
- numbering and addressing machine-to-machine communications (M2M).
