ANACOM launched NET.mede to the public on 02 December 2013, as a tool that consumers can use to check the actual speed of their Internet service (fixed and mobile) and compare it to the maximum speed they have contracted with their service provider.
NET.mede can also be used to perform a test which detects traffic shaping or application speed management by operators.
In 2014, NET.mede reported 420,690 users and an average duration per session of about four minutes.
Over one million (1,064,828) page views were reported over the year.
