Resolution


Pursuant to paragraphs 2 and 6 of article 21 of the Statutes of ICP - National Communications Authority (ICP-ANACOM), approved by Decree-Law no. 309/2001 of 7 December, the members of the Board of Directors thereof are appointed by resolution of the Council of Ministers, upon proposal of the member of the Government responsible for the communications area, for a non-renewable term of five years.

Pursuant to paragraphs 1 and 3 of article 21 of the Statutes of ICP - National Communications Authority (ICP-ANACOM), the Board of Directors consists of a chairman and of two or four members, who are appointed among persons of acknowledged good repute, independence as well as technical and professional skills.

The members of the current Board of Directors were appointed by the Resolution no. 61/2002 (2nd Series), of 4 July, published in the Diário da República, 2nd Series, no. 169, of 24 July 2002.

However, one of the members, Maria do Carmo Félix da Costa Seabra, was appointed to perform duties within the XVI Constitutional Government, as Minister for Education, and thus her replacement should be provided for.

Therefore:

Pursuant to point d) of article 199 of the Constitution, the Council of Ministers hereby resolves:

1 - To appoint Pedro Duarte Neves as member of the Board of Directors of ICP - National Communications Authority (ICP-ANACOM), for a non-renewable term of five years, upon proposal of the Minister for Public Works, Transports and Communications.

2 - To determine that, pursuant to article 5 of Decree-Law no. 464/82, of 9 December, Pedro Duarte Neves is hereby borrowed from the Bank of Portugal.

3 - To establish that the present resolution takes effect as from the date of approval thereof.
