Guarantee deposit demandable within the scope of the Fixed Telephone Service

/ Updated on 17.05.2007

By deliberation of the ICP Board of Directors on the 31st of October 2001 and as a result of the survey carried out among fixed telephone service (FTS) providers, the sum of PTE 9,000 (nine thousand escudos) was adopted as the guarantee deposit demandable by providers in cases where the services are re-established after being interrupted through contractual non-compliance attributable to the consumer.

The application of this guarantee deposit is a direct result of Decree Law nº 195/99, dated June 8th, which established the regime of guarantee deposits for essential public services.

The amount fixed at this time may be updated within the maximum time limit of one year should there exist elements that justify such a decision.
