'Girls in ICT Day' 2015

"Girls in ICT Day'' is celebrated worldwide annually on the fourth Thursday of April - this year on 23 April.

The Day was established in 2010 by resolution of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to celebrate the interests and opportunities that new technologies can offer young women and to encourage them to choose an education and career in information and communication technology (ICT).

In Portugal, FPC - Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações (Portuguese Communications Foundation) is associated with this initiative and is holding a debate (today, 2pm - 5pm) on the topics "Is digital transversal?" and "Young women and young men, how will we live in 2050?''. The opening session will be attended by ANACOM, which is one of the FPC's founders.

During the event, the winners of the digital works competition, which was launched at school level, will be announced and the prizes handed out.
