Based on ongoing work in BEREC’s Expert Working Group on Next Generation Networks (EWG NGN), a workshop on IP-based interconnection for voice services was held on 21 April in Brussels.
The workshop was grounded on the group’s efforts to draw up a report on the European situation of IP-based interconnection for voice services and began with a presentation of preliminary results of that study. Information was then shared by the regulators from Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Spain and Italy, regarding how the matter is being dealt with at regulatory level in the respective countries, as well as problems faced and the current status of the migration process.
