On 8 May 2015, the European Commission (EC) adopted a decision to make spectrum in the 1452-1492 MHz band available for wireless broadband under harmonised technical conditions. This spectrum could be used for advanced mobile services such as audiovisual streaming or high-speed downloads.
The Decision contributes to achieving the European Union's target of having at least 1200 MHz of spectrum available for wireless broadband by 2015 (in accordance with the Radio Spectrum Policy Programme).
