On 6 May 2015, the European Commission (EC) launched a public consultation on cross-border parcel delivery, seeking to compile input from interested parties on the main issues and possible areas of improvement for cross-border delivery services when sending packets and parcels across the European Union. The consultation closes on 29 July.
This consultation is one of the actions set out in the EC's broader initiative to complete the single market for parcel delivery with high levels of quality and affordable prices. The references for the consultation are:
- The green paper on "An integrated parcel delivery market for the growth of e-commerce in the EU", November 2012;
- EC Roadmap for completing the single market for parcel delivery, December 2013;
- EC strategy for the digital single market, 6 May 2015.
