Luxembourg takes over the presidency of the European Union (EU) on 3 July 2015. The beginning of the Presidency, Luxembourg's twelfth, will be marked by a "European Picnic".
Luxembourg has cited the creation of "a Union for the citizens" as one of the priorities of the Presidency, which runs until the end of 2015. It aims to put citizens at the heart of the European project, taking into account their real interests and ensuring that they will be properly considered in all EU policies.
Outlining an open approach to the public, the Luxembourg Presidency wants to listen to citizens, support businesses and cooperate with partners and institutions, always acting in the interest of Europe.
