New consultation on the definition of terrestrial coverage obligations in the context of DTT


On 25 June 2015, ANACOM approved a new draft decision on the definition of terrestrial coverage obligations and the amendment of the right of use of frequencies (ICP-ANACOM no. 06/2008) allocated to MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia (formerly PT Comunicações) in the context of digital terrestrial television (DTT).

This new draft decision was submitted to the prior hearing of MEO, in accordance with the Código de Procedimento Administrativo (Administrative Proceeding Code) and to the general consultation procedure laid down in article 8 of the Lei das Comunicações Eletrónicas (Electronic Communications Lawhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?categoryId=333114). Under both procedures, interested parties were given a period of 20 working days to respond; as such, comments - in writing and in Portuguese - should be sent by email to obrigacoes-tdt@anacom.ptmailto:obrigacoes-tdt@anacom.pt1, to be received no later than 31 July 2015.

Once the consultation process has been concluded, the contributions received will be made public. Therefore, for the purposes of publication on this website, interested parties should also submit a non-confidential version of their responses, excluding any items considered confidential.

Approval was also given to the report of the prior hearing and consultation on the definition of terrestrial coverage obligations to be included in the DTT right of use of frequencies allocated to MEO, following the decision of 4 July 2014https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1282553.
