51st meeting of Technical Committee 210 - Dublin


The 51st meeting of Technical Committee 210 (TC210) of CENELEC was held last 19-20 May in Dublin.

The modifications to include in the scope of EN 55035 were accepted and will be forwarded for vote in the national committees: “For equipment that fall within the scope of the EN 300 386 and the EN 301 489-x series, the requirements within these product specific/product family standards take precedence over the requirements within this standard.”

Regarding power line communications (PLC), standard EN 50561-3 will be forwarded for vote and mandate M/313 will be completed when the work is finished and standards EN 50561-2 and EN 50561-3 are published. Working group 11 will begin a new item with the introduction of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technology in standard EN 50561-1.

Regarding ultra high frequency (UHF) – digital dividend, the joint working group of the European Committee for Electro-technical Standardisation (CENELEC) and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) on the digital dividend will submit document TR 103 288 for circulation and vote in the national committees. The German committee placed under discussion a document on the work of working group 12, specifically concerning CENELEC’s responsibility regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) parameters and ETSI’s responsibility regarding radio parameters, in radio broadcasting receivers. A decision was made to seek a common understanding between CENELEC and ETSI on these working areas.

Lastly, with respect to wireless power transfer (WPT), working group 2 WPT was to explain to the Telecommunications Conformity Assessment and Market Surveillance Committee (TCAM) how this area will be covered by Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMCD) or Radio (RED) Directives.
