By determination of 22 July 2015, ANACOM approved the final decision on the methodology of calculation of the CLSU - custos líquidos do serviço universal (net cost of universal service) to be applied for 2014.
It shall be recalled that the CLSU calculation methodology was developed on an annual basis, based on the annual results of MEO’s cost accounting system, and bearing in mind that, in 2014, MEO only remained for part of the year as universal service provider, under the regulatory framework for the period prior to designation by public tender, it is necessary to adapt the methodology to reflect this situation.
As such, the methodology of calculation of CLSU to be borne by MEO for 2014 shall be adapted as follows:
- From 1 January until 31 May 2014, in the component of connection to a public communications network at a fixed location and publicly available telephone services, And
- From 1 January until 8 April 2014, in the component of provision of public pay-phones.
On this date, approval was given also to the prior hearing report and consultation to which the draft decision approved on 4 June 2015 was subject.
